A MOT (Ministry of Transport) is a test that is conducted on an annual basis in the United Kingdom. It is done to gauge a vehicle’s safety, roadworthiness and the amount of emissions that emanate from it.

The MOT is mandatory in UK according to the Road Traffic Act of 1988. Failing a MOT is not a calamity but it must be avoided of course. In case your car fails the test, then you are issued a VT30 certificate, which signifies the reasons your vehicle was not fit for the road.

In case of failure, another test can be arranged and no time limit is applicable fortunately. When another test is scheduled depends entirely on the driver, although it is best to get your car fixed before taking the test again.

It must be noted that a car or van that does not have a legitimate MOT certification cannot be driven of the road. The only time it may be driven is to take it to a mechanic’s shop. Speaking of which, if you reside in Sutton Coldfield, there is no better place for a MOT test than Boldmere Service Centre!

Our mechanics can help you get your car back on the road if you’ve failed the MOT before.
